How we choose our teachers

Every Harland teacher passes through a four-stage selection process. Our courses are built around experts, and we choose them carefully.

Application and verification
Only a small fraction of applicants reach our second interview, and only a select few are hired. Credentials and references are verified directly with prior employers and academic institutions.

Two-stage interview
First with the Head Teacher, focused on values, classroom temperament, and pedagogical thinking. Second with the relevant Department Head, focused on subject mastery and curriculum design.

Observed teaching
A full lesson observed by the same leaders who interviewed them. Candidates teach actual curriculum to demonstrate subject knowledge, adaptability, and rapport with students.

Ongoing development
Termly observation, peer review, and pathways into curriculum and Department Head roles. The standard doesn't relax once someone joins.
